This page restates, in our own words, the judging criteria published on the official IFBB Pro website for the men’s categories. The official text is the reference: IFBB Pro — Categories.

- IFBB Pro Men’s Physique
IFBB Pro Bodybuilding · Up to 95 · Classic Physique
How the physique is assessed
- The judge assesses the whole physique, starting from the head and working downward through every part of the body.
- The assessment begins with the general impression the athlete gives.
- The judge looks for muscular bulk, balanced development, symmetry and definition.
Skin and overall condition
- Good skin tone is part of the assessment.
- When two or more athletes are very close to each other, scars, acne and excessive tattoos are taken into consideration.
Faults that place an athlete last
- Deformed muscles and an extended stomach automatically relegate the athlete to last place.
- Classic Physique: an athlete who is unable to perform the vacuum pose properly is relegated to last place as well.
IFBB Pro Men’s Physique
For Men’s Physique the official page gives the same assessment procedure:
- The whole physique is assessed from the head downward, part by part, beginning with the general impression.
- The judge looks for muscular bulk, balanced development, symmetry and definition.
- Good skin tone is expected; between very close athletes, scars, acne and excessive tattoos are taken into consideration.
- Deformed muscles and an extended stomach automatically relegate the athlete to last place.
